Many building codes require fireproofing protection as a safety precaution. Spray-applied cementitious fireproofing can be used in commercial buildings when fire protection is needed but drywall is not an option, for example, with Q-decking or steel columns and structures. This coating protects a building’s structural steel from failure in the event of a fire, and can be the difference between damage occurring and structural collapse.
